Kishwaukee made a second-half goal stand up to defeat the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Kleine Field.
Scoring chances were few and far between on a chilly, windy day. The goal for the Kougars (10-3-1) was set up after the Chargers (6-9-2 overall, 4-8-2 Region IV) were unable to erase a long service into the box on a free kick near midfield. The clearing attempt went to Kishwaukee’s Jessee Infante, who fed a wide-open Angel Martinez for the match’s only goal.
Sandburg collected nine corner kicks to Kishwaukee’s four, but the Kougars put seven shots on goal to just three for the Chargers.
